20/01/2014 - Hans Smellinckx
Yesterday we introduced you to one of our speakers Dr. Richard D. Gill, the professor of mathematics at Leiden University. Well, Dr. Gill got our heads thinking about statistics and numbers which led us to this lesson on TED-Ed from mathematician Jeff Dekofsky based on David Hilbert's Infinite Hotel. The Infinite Hotel, is a thought experiment created by Hilbert in the 1920s about a hotel with an infinite number of rooms. Still with us? Why not take a look at the lesson video below and start to understand more about the concept of infinity as Dekofsky brings Hilbert's Infinite Hotel to life in this quirky animation.
And don't forget to book your tickets for our event in March! (you can find the link on top of this page)
